I’ve seen my parents sacrifice everything to raise 3 kids and I can see how that’s impacted my life as an adult and in my own decision making.

I’m about to embark on first time parenthood and I want to be a model for my kid about carving their own path but I’m also scared that through the hustle and bustle, that I will fall victim to my upbringing. Don’t get me wrong, my parents are supportive and wonderful and I think they did a great job in raising us and we were never made to feel like we were a burden. But I often wonder how different all our lives would be if they lived for themselves rather than living for us. It makes me a little sad.
